Admissions accepts applications one year before the start of a semester or session. There are a number of enrollment steps and completing them early helps you get everything done before the deadlines.
Here are some additional reasons to apply now and get started with your enrollment steps:
The financial-aid process takes 4 to 6 weeks.Apply for financial aid before the financial aid priority date to know what your financial aid package includes before the start of the semester when payment is due.
Any documents requested by Admissions have to be submitted by the application deadline. After we review your application, we may ask for more information and you’ll need time to get that to us before the deadline.
Prepare before you come to test. It is recommended you prepare for at least two weeks before you take the placement test.
Technical and career programs fill up. Increase your chances of getting into the program you want by applying early.
You will have a wider choice of classes when you register. Apply early so you can sign up for classes that best fit your schedule.
You must apply and send in all needed documentation by the admission deadlines posted on the enrollment calendar.
Applications that arrive after the deadline are considered for the following semester, unless you qualify for an exception (see below). Minneapolis College has two semesters, fall (late August to December) and spring (January to May) as well as a summer session (June and July).
After you apply, you will receive an email about next steps within a week, but if you have any questions please contact us online.
If you would like to apply for admission to Minneapolis College after the application deadline, you may be considered for admission for the current term if you meet the following:
You are a transfer student or have previously attended college and you are in good academic standing (GPA of 2.0 or higher) without suspensions or financial holds on your transcript from previous institutions*
