Request an Official MCTC Transcript

An official transcript is MCTC’s certified statement of your academic record. You can request your official transcript online, by mail, or in person.

If you have any overdue financial obligations to the College, they must be resolved before your request can be processed.

You do not need to submit a transcript request to have your transcript sent to another Minnesota State institution (unless you attended only the former Minneapolis Technical College prior to 1996). If you are enrolled or seeking to enroll at another Minnesota State institution, that institution will be able to retrieve your MCTC transcript electronically, as long as there are no holds on your MCTC account. You should contact the Minnesota State institution you plan to attend to find out your next steps.

If you attended Minneapolis Technical College prior to 1996

Records from the former Minneapolis Technical College (MTC) are paper only, and cannot be retrieved electronically by other Minnesota State institutions. Minneapolis Community and Technical College requires a request and will charge transcript fees for these archived records. If you attended MTC before 1996, you will need to submit a request online, in person, or by mail as described below.

The fastest, easiest and most efficient way to request your official transcript is by placing an online order. You can request either an official transcript that is delivered electronically or a paper transcript that is sent by mail.

MCTC has authorized Parchment, a digital credentials service, to provide online ordering to current and former MCTC students.

Electronic Delivery

  • Cost: $5 per recipient
  • Electronic transcripts are sent as a secure, certified PDF document and will be considered official as long as it is sent directly from MCTC through the Parchment ordering service and is not altered
  • Electronic transcript requests are sent within 3 business days and are available for download by the recipient for 30 days
  • A printed copy of an electronic PDF transcript is not official
  • Make sure to confirm with your recipient that they will accept this format before you place an order

Paper Transcript Delivery by Mail

  • Cost: $5 per transcript, plus mailing fee ($2.50 standard mail or $25 for Fed Ex Domestic Delivery)
  • Paper transcripts are mailed within 5 business days
  • Paper transcripts are official as long as they remain in its original, sealed envelope
  • Do not open the sealed envelope if you are forwarding your transcript to another institution, employer, or third party

How to Order Online

Log into the Parchment using your StarID.

If you do not have a StarID, you can still order a transcript but you will have to create a Parchment account.  Follow the prompts to specify where, how, and when you would like your transcript sent. Order updates will be emailed to you. You can also check your transcript's order status online.

Your credit card is not charged until MCTC has processed your order and sent your transcript.

If you do not order online through Parchment, you will need to submit a written request that you have signed, authorizing MCTC to release your record.

Complete and submit an Academic Transcript Request form and mail it to the address below.

You must sign this form and include a check or money order for $5 per transcript.
