ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS)

As an applicant to the Professional Nursing Professional (NPRO) program, you must take the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS). The ATI TEAS is a national, standardized examination of basic learning skills. Research has shown that applicants who do well on the ATI TEAS are more likely to be successful in nursing school.

The cost of ATI TEAS testing varies by location—when you review the schedule at the link above, select "Learn More" to see the test cost at the MCTC location.

    Important information

    • When registering for the ATI TEAS, you must use your name exactly as it appears on your government-issued photo identification (driver’s license or passport). You must also use this name on your Professional Nursing (NPRO) program application materials.
    • You will need your government-issued photo ID to be admitted to the test.
    • You should plan to take the ATI TEAS as soon as possible. We have a limited number of seats and you may need to test again to get the desired percent you need for program admission. The test takes about four hours to complete.
    • We allow students from other colleges to sign up to take the test at our site.
    • Some area colleges that offer the ATI TEAS may not allow you to test at their sites. Some colleges limit testing to their own admitted students. Also, if you are able to secure a seat at another college or at a testing center you may pay up to twice as much for the exam.
    • For more information about the ATI TEAS, including how to register, study guides, practice tests, visit ATI Testing

    Preparing for the ATI TEAS

    • MCTC recommends you review and prepare for the ATI TEAS, but does not endorse any particular set of review or preparation materials. Find study guides and practice test information on the ATI Testing site
