Administrative Professional Series

Today’s administrative professionals are leading workplace teams and organizing meetings and conferences. As a result, employers are demanding skills in management functions and technology, including:

  • Customer service, public relations and supervisory skills
  • Project management, organization and scheduling
  • Integrated computer software applications
  • Internet and Intranet communications
  • Document preparation, storage and retrieval
  • Research & electronic record keeping

The Administrative Professional Certificate positions you as a partner in your organization’s success. We will help you customize a program that meets your needs. Simply complete seven classes based on the following requirements.

Complete at least two Microsoft Applications courses offered at a discount of $135 each, except as noted (no more than three will apply to the certificate requirements):

  • Access I, II, III
  • Excel I, II, III
  • PowerPoint I, II
  • Word I, II
  • MS Project (counts as two courses, discount price $315)
  • Windows 7: Basics and File Management (counts as ½ course, $99)
  • Microsoft Outlook: Email and Calendaring (counts as ½ course, $99)

Complete at least two of the following courses for a discounted rate of $115 each (except as noted):

  • Business Communications Certificate courses
  • Business Certificate courses
  • Social Media Certificate courses
  • Project Management: Core (counts as two courses, $599)

No more than two Ed2Go online courses will apply to the certificate (prices vary, others not listed may also qualify):

  • Accounting Fundamentals
  • Administrative Assistant Fundamentals
  • Keys to Effective Communication
  • Mastery of Business Fundamentals
  • Skills for Making Great Decisions

MCTC–Thermo King Partnership

MCTC was awarded $300,000 by the Department of Employment and Economic Development Minnesota Job Skills Partnership to develop and implement lean process improvement training. The training will be delivered to more than 550 engineering, design and management staff at Minnesota-based Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control systems for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand.
