Spring Fine Arts Festival, concerts at MCTC
The MCTC Music Department and MCTC Fine Arts Festival present a series of musical concerts featuring the talents of students, faculty, and staff. All events are open to the public!
Instrumental Ensembles Concert
Tuesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The MCTC Jazz, Chamber and Percussion Ensembles will present a joint concert! The Jazz Ensemble will features works from composers of the Swing, Hard Bop, and Jazz/Rock Fusion genre. A tango, works a traditional folk song of China (Xiao He Tang Shui), and Orange Moon by Japanese compose Yukiko Nushimura (b. 1967) will be performed as part of the offerings by the Chamber ensemble. Three Brief Conversations by MCTC faculty member Yolanda Y. Williams will also be featured in the evening. Members of our newest musical ensemble, will perform an arrangement of Bomba/Comparsa and is directed by MCTC percussion faculty member, Joel Arpin. A Spring Choral Concert
Friday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert, directed by Dr. Elizabeth Pauly and accompanied by Christopher Wolter will feature the choirs’ characteristic blend of European art music with folk and traditional music from across the globe. Pieces include compositions and arrangements by Stephen Paulus, Paul John Rudoi and Edward Torikian. Joining the choirs will be guest artist percussionist Paul Raukar.
