Student responsibilities
- Enjoy your experience as a student and know that you will work very hard.
- During your first semester at MCTC, take the following course offered free
to Starting Point students: ADEV 1000 - Orientation to Higher Education
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress by completing 67% of course credits
attempted and earning a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
- Meet with a Starting Point advisor at least three times per semester for
evaluation of your academic progress.
- Obtain help as needed (or recommended) in the Starting
Point Tutoring Center or the MCTC
Learning Center.
- Authorize Starting Point staff to obtain records or data from other offices
at MCTC.
- Allow the Starting Point staff to contact your instructors to fill out Mid-term
report forms and inform the Starting Point advisor of results.
- Inform your Starting Point advisor of any difficulty whether personal, academic,
or otherwise that may interfere with your success as a student.
- Participate in as many program
activities as possible.
- Establish an e-mail account and notify your Starting Point advisor of your
e-mail address.
