Apply to Starting Point

In order to become a Starting Point student you will need to complete five easy steps.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

Eligibility requirements

Qualified students are enrolled at MCTC with intent to graduate and/or transfer to an institution granting Bachelor's degrees. Eligibility is subject to proof of at least one of the following characteristics:

Federal TRIO Programs Annual Low Income Levels 2007-08 School Year (2006 Taxable Income) Effective February 2007 until further notice.

For family units with more than 8 members, add the following amount for each additional family member: $5,220.

Step 2: Request an Application

Applications are available in room H.2405 through Sharon LeClaire. Space is limited. Students are accepted into the program on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Step 3: Complete an Application

Bring your completed application to Sharon LeClaire in H.2405 along with proof of eligibility. Income verification may include tax form, Student Aid Report, proof of government assistance etc.

Step 4: Schedule an interview with an advisor

Sharon LeClaire will arrange your interview. During this interview, an advisor will describe your student responsibilities and the services that are available.

Step 5: Meet with your assigned advisor

Sharon Margali and Kris Leveille are both friendly and inviting people. They are available to answer your questions. During this meeting, they get to know you and will discuss your goals and needs.
