The Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) International Student Admissions application is intended for Students who possess an F-1 or Non-Immigrant Visa.

Admission will not be granted for summer term for students not in the United States.
The following checklist outlines the procedures required to complete your application to MCTC. It is the student’s responsibility to forward all materials requested by the deadline listed. Registration for classes is a separate process. Applications will not be reviewed for admission until all documents are received. Applications not completed by deadlines will be deferred to the next semester.
Complete the international student application and submit it with all required documents to the Admissions Office by mail or in person.
Applicants must submit official (original) academic records from all secondary, post-secondary or tertiary institutions attended. All transcripts must be sent from all attended colleges or universities, (copies of originals will not be accepted). Detailed official records of courses/subjects taken, grades/marks earned and record of examination results, copy of degree, diploma or certificate. Transcripts or records should be sent to the International Admissions Advisor before the published application deadline.
If your documents are not in English, all records must be translated into English with a copy of the original document that is in the native language. Translations must be certified by a school or public official as a true copy and translation of the original document.
The minimum academic requirement is graduation from a recognized secondary school. Applicants should show academic strength in at least five key academic areas with a minimum grade of “C” or higher that correspond to the student’s intended field of study. Courses in religion is not considered academic.
This college reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of the certification and does not ordinarily return certificates and/or records. Some documents may be sent to authorities for verification of authenticity. When there is a charge for verification of authenticity, the applicant must pay the fee.
English language scores or results should be mailed directly from the testing agency to the attention of the International Admission Advisor at MCTC. Scores over two (2) years old will not be accepted. Copies will not be accepted. One of the following procedures must be provided:
Only international applicants seeking F-1 Student Visa, Form I-20 must show sufficient proof of financial support. This also applies to students transferring from another U.S. institution. Documents must be current within the last six months of expected date of enrollment. Copies are not accepted unless notarized by a legal official. Admission to the college will not be granted until one of the following documents have been submitted.

As your application is being reviewed, we ask for your patience while the process is being completed. The review process may take several weeks. Making frequent requests for updates by phone or e-mail serves only to slow down the processing of your application, as well as those of other applicants. It is very important that the application and all required documents be submitted when mailing your international packet.
MCTC is asking you to provide information which includes private and/or confidential information under state and federal law. MCTC is asking for this information in order to process your application. You are not legally required to provide the information MCTC is requesting; however MCTC may not be able to efficiently process your application if you do not provide sufficient information. With some exceptions, unless you consent to further release of private information, access to this information will be limited to school officials, including faculty who have legitimate educational interests in the information.
