We offer a variety of support resources to help you succeed at MCTC, including a Learning Center, Testing Center, computer labs and online technology support.
The Learning Center provides students with free tutoring in math, reading, writing, and health occupation courses; assistance in study skills; peer tutoring and study groups for many liberal arts and technical/occupational courses.
The Center also offers sessions on learning styles, study skills, textbook and/or technical manual reading and writing.
The Testing Center (T.2800) offers walk-in services if you need to take a placement test, take an instructor-arranged exam, or review your math skills.
The College offers three computer labs on campus, which are open during specific days and times. Also, technology support is offered online, or by calling the ITS Service Desk at 612-659-6600.
MCTC LibraryThe Library comprises the first two floors of Wheelock Whitney Hall. It offers an open computer lab, fifteen research computers, sixteen wireless laptops, group study and media viewing rooms. A wireless network connects students to campus resources and the Internet. Library databases provide access to the full-text of 10,000 magazines, newspapers, and scholarly journals. Electronic reference databases provide access to specialized material. The library catalog connects to one-hundred libraries with combined holdings of over three million books. Professional research assistance is available, as are specialized courses in research skills and information studies.
