With coverage spanning virtually every area of academic study, this database provides full text for more than 4,600 scholarly publications, including more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals.

Access Science

Online edition of the McGraw-Hill Science and Technology Encyclopedia with added content. Content areas include the physical and life sciences, computing and information technology, and psychiatry and psychology.

African American Song

A streaming online source that contains over 50,000 tracks from the history of African American music with a diverse range of genres including jazz, blues, gospel, ragtime, folk songs, and narratives.

Alt-Press Watch

Indexes alternative press newspapers, magazines and journals. All titles are full-text.

Alternative Health Watch

A full-text database of periodicals, peer-reviewed journals, academic and professional publications, magazines, consumer newsletters and newspapers, research reports, and association newsletters focused on complementary, alternative and integrated approaches to health care and wellness.

Alternative Press Index

ARTstor

A database of over 300,000 images of art, architecture and archaeology from many different cultures and time periods with brief information about each item; the strength of this database is in European, American, and Asian cultures.

Biology Digest

Detailed abstracts from over 185 sources published since 1989, written in a non-technical style for students and nonscientists. Subjects include botany, environmental science, health, life science, medicine, and zoology. Full text is available for many of the articles in other MCTC databases or in the paper version of the periodicals.

Books in Print

Includes purchase information for several million books, videos, and audio material, with editorial descriptions and brief reviews for many of them. It also includes access to Bowker's Publishers Authority Database listing over 165,000 publishers, distributors, wholesalers and book agents.

Business Source Premier

With coverage of virtually all subject areas related to business, this database includes full text for nearly 3,800 scholarly business journals, including more than 1,100 peer-reviewed business publications, and some reference books and monographs.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text

This comprehensive nursing & allied health research database provides full text for more than 620 journals indexed in CINAHL. The database includes other types of resources as well, such as Evidence-Based Care Sheets, Quick Lessons and continuing education reviews (many, though not all, with full text).

Classical Music Library

A streaming online source that provides over 10,000 recordings from the collections of more than 20 independent classical music labels, ranging from operas to symphonies to chamber music as well as works by many contemporary composers.

CQ Electronic Encyclopedia of American Government

A source for information on U.S. government, politics, and elections, including coverage of the history, structure, dynamics, operation, and personalities of the three branches of U.S. government and elections. Provides the who, what, where, when, and how of every era of American history - from the American Revolution to the present.

CQ Global Researcher

Offers coverage of current global affairs topics from a variety of international viewpoints, presented in the same balanced manner as CQ Researcher. In addition, all of the CQ Global Researcher articles are integrated into the CQ Researcher Web site. Encyclopaeda Britannica

EB Online includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and the Britannica Book of the Year. You can also use EB Online to search an Internet directory that includes more than 130,000 links to Web sites selected, rated, and reviewed by Britannica editors

Ethnic NewsWatch

A unique database containing full-text articles from newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. Many Spanish language periodicals. Use the Advanced Search feature and set the Language of Articles option to Spanish.

Gale Virtual Reference Library

An electronic reference book collection of subject encyclopedias, handbooks and guides, covering many subject disciplines.

Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online

Online encyclopedia devoted to music research of all the world’s peoples. Each volume contains an overview of the region, a survey of its musical heritage, traditions and themes; and a description of specific musical genres, practices, and performances. Contains articles and images.

Greenwood Digital Collection

An online reference ebook collection, mainly containing subject encyclopedias. The ebooks in this collection can also be found in, and accessed from, the Library Catalog.

LexisNexis Academic provides full-text documents from over 6,000 news, business, and legal publications,with a variety of search options. In addition to the news, business, and legal sources, it also provides access to medical information, including medical news and medical & health journals (abstracts only), biographical information, country and state profiles, and information from the World Almanac and Book of Facts.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts

Indexes over 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings for subjects including librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.

Literature Criticism Online

Includes the contents of three Gale literature criticism series (Contemporary Literary Criticism, Poetry Criticism, and Short Story Criticism) that provide biographical and in depth critical information about thousands of authors.

Caution: Some articles are very long, so it is important to use the relevant pages key at the bottom of the results display screen when viewing and more importantly, when printing.

MasterFILE Premier

MegaFILE (EBSCO)

EBSCO MegaFILE is a multi-disciplinary database providing full text for nearly 12,000 total publications and indexing & abstracting for more than 16,000 publications. Coverage spans every area of academic study and general interest subject area and offers information dating as far back as the 1800s. In addition, the database contains more than 84,000 biographies, 86,000 primary source documents, 10,000 company profiles and an image collection of more than 107,000 photos, maps and flags. MegaFILE is comprised of EBSCO’s Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, MasterFILE Premier and Regional Business News databases.

The Nation

Full-text digital archive of the Nation Magazine from 1865, vol. 1 issue 1. The Nation is the oldest liberal/leftist news weekly in the country. A great resource for historical research from a leftist perspective.

NetLibrary

Collection of over 12,500 full text, fully searchable electronic books from all subject areas including over 3,400 older "public domain" works. The recent ebooks are also available through the library catalog.

ProQuest's Historical New York Times database offers full-text and article images beginning with the first issue.

Nursing (OVID)

Includes Books@OVID (full text), Journals@)OVID (full text) and CINAHL (partial full text).

Opposing Viewpoints

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center: Access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to websites, and full-text magazine and newspaper articles. Regional Business News

This database includes coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from many metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. Full text of articles from Finance & Commerce, Minnesota Lawyer, and St. Paul Legal Ledger, the three journals published in Minnesota, is available for the latest 30 days.
