Michelle Berry, 2010 Ms. Pan Africa

MCTC student, Michelle Berry was crowned the 2010 Ms. Pan Africa at The 34th Pan African Student Leadership Conference at MSU-Mankato on February 27.

Students honored for achievements, service

Two MCTC students—Aaron Spiegel and Glade Woolstenhulme—are among 40 students in the 2010 All-Minnesota Academic Team being honored on March 3 for their academic achievements and community service.

Carolyn Holbrook wins Kay Sexton Award

Carolyn Holbrook, an English faculty member, has won the Kay Sexton Award, which honors a person who has been dedicated to fostering books, reading and literary activity in Minnesota.

She will be honored April 17 at the 22nd Annual Minnesota Book Awards event.

Nou Yang writes about freedom from oppression

Nou Yang, a second-year Power of You student, has written a moving essay about freeing herself from oppression that was published on March 4 in the Minnesota Women's Press.

EMPOWER Scholarships available for students

The Courage Center recognizes the importance of encouraging ethnically diverse students to enter the health care field. Recipients of the EMPOWER (Encourage Minority Participation in Occupations with Emphasis on Rehabilitation) scholarship will receive $1500 toward their higher education in health care.
