Paying your tuition and fees
Tuition payment deadlines
At MCTC we make it easy to pay your tuition and fees by offering you six options:
Pay online
When you pay online, you can make full or partial payments using Visa/MasterCard or e-check.
- Go to e-Services and login. Enter your student I.D. and registration PIN numbers.
- At the next screen, choose "Bills and Payments" from the menu on the left side of the screen. To pay, chose "Make a Payment."
Pay by mail
To pay by mail, print a fee statement via the Internet and mail a copy of it with your check or money order to:
Minneapolis Community and Technical College
Business Services Office
1501 Hennepin Avenue
Minneapolis, MN 55403
- Note your student I.D. number on the check or money order. Don't send cash.
- If you want to receive a receipt, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
Note: Depending on your registration date, a fee statement may not be mailed until after your tuition and fees are due. To avoid being dropped for non-payment, please pay online or visit Business Services after you register.
Pay in person
You can also pay in person during business hours at the Business Services Office in the T Building Skyway. For your convenience, a payment drop-box is located outside the Business Services Office.
Hours of operation
- Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
FACTS tuition payment plan
You also have the option of setting up a payment plan using FACTS, a third party tuition management company.
- For a fee and a 15 percent or $300 down payment, FACTS will setup a payment schedule for you.
- They will forward payments from your checking, savings, MasterCard or DiscoverCard account to the College.
- Please read the agreement carefully.
- Remember that FACTS will not be notified if you drop courses or make separate payments to the College.
- Any changes to your agreement must be received in writing at Business Services at least five business days before the next scheduled payment date.
Note: Unpaid balances will be subject to collection fees. You will not be allowed to register for any additional terms and your transcript will not be released until the balance is paid in full.

Third party billing
If your tuition, fees, bookstore purchases and/or parking ramp cards are billed to an outside agency or organization, the process is considered "third party billing". MCTC agrees to defer the due date for the appropriate college costs and invoice charges directly to the agency/organization on your behalf.
- Before this process can begin, the College must receive authorization from the agency/organization.
- It is your responsibility to ensure the Business Services Office receives the third party billing Authorization for Payments each term before the tuition payment deadline.
Tuition deferment
If you want to request an extension to the tuition payment deadline, pay a 15 percent down payment or $300 to hold your registration. Here are a couple of points to keep in mind:
- Approved students will not be dropped from their classes for non-payment.
- You are responsible for all charges and any late fees.
- Accounts not paid by the due date are subject to a one-time $30 late fee.
- Unpaid balances will be subject to collection fees. You will not be allowed to register for any additional terms and your transcript will not be released until the balance is paid in full.
