Plan your transfer

You should plan ahead if you intend to take classes at MCTC and transfer the credits to another system college or university. Follow these steps to get the process started:

• Talk to an advisor or counselor about the pluses or minuses of completing a full two-year Associate in Arts general degree, which are usually 60 – 64 semester credits in length.
• If you don't think you'll transfer to a public college or university in Minnesota, your advisor/counselor can guide you in selecting acceptable basic general education courses.
• If you know your major, you are advised to complete standard courses for that major in your freshman and sophomore year with general education courses.
