Mavs Comeback Earns Road Win 80-68
The moral of this story is to never and I repeat ever give up. With just over 12 minutes left in the game we were down 17, 51-34. What happened next is the reason you never stop playing. We scored 46 pts in the final 12 minutes and held Ridgewater to just 17 pts. Ridgewater played an outstanding game up until the final 12 minutes. At that point our shots starting dropping and our defensive effort became very strong. Funny how those two things go together. We were lead in the second half by some outstanding performances. Freddie Burton had 10 assist, zero turnovers, for the game. All Fred's assist came in the second half. Mike Welsh had 4 threes, all in the second half. Peter Olafeso, back after missing two games due to injury, had a game high 29 pts. Twin brother Kenny added 22. Ronald Kelly who finished the game with 6 boards brought great intensity to us down the stretch.
All I can say is wow! I love this game.
Next Wednesday is our last regular season home game vs Riverland. As most of you know MCTC is dropping the program after this season our 45th. My 20th. This team would really like to see your support one more time.
