Mavs win big 93-48. Host Science Sat @ 3pm.
It was a game we were hoping would give us a chance to see everyone in action. Mission accomplished. All 13 guys played,12/13 scored. We once again were lead in scoring by Kenny Olafeso. The pre-season All-American had 31 pts, 7bds, 2 assist and 4 steals. Not to be out done by his brother, twin Peter Olafeso ended the night with a triple double, 14pts 12 bds and 10 assists. Rookie pt guard Freddie Burton continued to lead the team with 4 assist and 5 steals.
The game was played at Whitney Center across the street from St Cloud Tech. The MCAC needs to add another basketball team next season and St cloud tech would be a perfect fit. Athletic director and head basketball coach John Haller have an outstanding venue and did a great job of hosting the game. Their game operatons were flawless.
Next opponent for us will be NDSCS. The Wildcats are coached by Scott Schumacher. Scott is one of the top coaches in the nation and enters his second season at the helm of Science. The Wildcats finished the season last year with a record of 31-4. They continue their winning ways early this season coming into Saturdays game with a 6-1 record.
This will be stiff challenge for us. We will need to focused for 40 minutes and play with great intensity. It should be a great early season contest.
