Academic advisors are available to help you plan your class schedules, track your graduation progress, help you set goals and explore transfer options.
Counselors can assist you with personal concerns and crises, career counseling and assessment and various topics related to helping you succeed at MCTC.
Learning support
At the Learning Center, we provide our students with free tutoring in math, reading, writing and health occupation courses at MCTC; assistance in study skills; peer tutoring and study groups for many classes. The center also offers sessions on learning styles, study skills, textbook and technical manual reading and writing.
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Curriculum provides intensive English training in writing, reading, listening and speaking. These classes help prepare you to be admitted to and be successful in college courses. We want you to succeed at MCTC and beyond. Our Strategies for College Success course includes information about college requirements and expectations, academic and career goal-setting, time planning, stress management, communication skills, learning styles and an overview of study skills.

The Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program prepares veterans for college and offers free college prep courses. You can receive career, personal and financial aid counseling, enrollment assistance, GED preparation and one-on-one tutoring.
