Planning and personal support
MCTC has Academic advisors who are available to help you plan your class schedules, track your graduation progress, help you set goals and explore transfer options.
At the Learning Center, we provide our students with free tutoring in math, reading, writing and health occupation courses at MCTC; assistance in study skills; peer tutoring and study groups for many classes. The center also offers sessions on learning styles, study skills, textbook and technical manual reading and writing.
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Curriculum provides intensive English training in writing, reading, listening and speaking. These classes help prepare you to be admitted to and be successful in college courses. We want you to succeed at MCTC and beyond. We also offer courses to provide information about college requirements and expectations, academic and career goal-setting, time planning, stress management, communication skills, learning styles and study skills.
Resources for your unique needs

We offer a variety of support services for students, including the American Indian Success Program, African American Education Empowerment Program, counseling, healthcare services, the Resource and Referral Center and many more.

Our TRIO programs are an excellent resource to help you with college preparation, career, personal and financial aid counseling, enrollment assistance, GED preparation and one-on-one tutoring. These unique programs include Starting Point, Educational Opportunity Center, High School Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search and Veterans Upward Bound.
