Send Your Transcript to MCTC

The Registration and Records Office is responsible for evaluating credits earned from other educational institutions. To request an evaluation, please follow the instructions provided below. Have all your previous colleges send sealed official transcript(s) to our office for evaluation.

    Send directly from the sending college to MCTC at records.office@minneapolis.edu

  • MnSCU eTranscripts:
    If you have previously attended a college and you are an admitted student at MCTC (not including the University of Minnesota), your official MnSCU transcript(s) may be electronically retrieved at no cost. If you have holds at a MnSCU institution you previously attended, we may not be able to retrieve your electronic transcript.

Other types of transcripts

Transcripts from foreign schools must be submitted to an outside agency for a course-by-course evaluation and processing before an MCTC evaluation can be completed. The agency must be a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). We highly recommend Educational Credential Evaluators at www.ece.org.

If you are a Veteran enrolling at MCTC, you are encouraged to have your official military transcripts sent to the Registration and Records Office. The Joint Services Transcript (JST) is available for Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy active duty, reserve and veterans. Joint Services Transcripts, once you request them online, are electronically uploaded by MCTC for credit review.

Air Force transcripts continue to be available online through the Community College of the Air Force website. Air Force transcripts should be mailed directly to the MCTC Registration and Records Office.

Have your official AP score report (transcript) sent directly from the College Board to the MCTC Registration and Records Office. AP examinations posted on transcripts from other institutions will not be used to update a student's academic record at MCTC. Have your IB transcript sent directly to the MCTC Registration and Records Office. A list of IB exams and how they transfer to MCTC is available through Transferology listed under Standardized Exams.

If you have CLEP scores, you should have the official CLEP score report (transcript) sent directly to the MCTC Registration and Records Office. CLEP examinations posted on transcripts from other institutions will not be used to update a student's academic record at MCTC. Military service members who have passing scores on DSST examinations are eligible to receive college credit. Official DSST scores should be sent directly to the MCTC Registration and Records Office for evaluation. Additional Information

Official transcripts are evaluated in the order received, and only after you have paid the application fee. Evaluations are major/program specific. This means that you will be given transfer credit for coursework that is applicable to your declared program of study.

  • We encourage you to submit your official transcripts early.
  • MCTC only holds official transcripts for 90 days if an MCTC application is not on file. If you apply after 90 days, you will need to resubmit an official transcript for evaluation.
  • If you have had a name change since attending another college, you should contact Student Services to help us match the records with your previous name to your MCTC record.
