Classes that typically begin at 5 p.m. or later on Tuesday, Feb. 7, are cancelled due to Minnesota precinct caucuses and State statute that requires colleges to cancel evening classes. Other college offices and services (Library, Computer Labs, Learning Center) will maintain regular operating hours.

Select the Right Courses for Your Major

MCTC offers two self-advising tools

Check your progress toward completing your academic program and or the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum by using the degree audit.

For information about transferring courses to or from MCTC, browse U.select, a multi-state transfer resource.

Advising provides degree planning services

Each term you are encouraged to meet with your advisor, individually or in group registration planning sessions, to help you with selecting courses and planning for your degree. Contact Advising at 612-659-6700 to make an appointment.

When you meet with an advisor, they will help you plan your program completion and answer any questions you may have.

During your appointment, your advisor will review your progress by using your degree audit.

How do I apply for graduation?

You will need to submit the Intent to Graduate form to the Office of the Registrar for the term in which you expect to complete all required coursework. Deadlines are indicated in the online academic calendar.

If you are planning to complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum and transfer, you will need to apply for graduation review.

What is the benefit of completing the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum?

Minnesota Transfer Curriculum is a package of general education courses accepted for transfer to the other state colleges and universities.

Before you submit your Intent Form, you are encouraged to meet with a counselor or advisor to help you review your academic record for completion of your academic program. You can schedule an appointment in the Counseling and Advising Office (T.2500), or by calling 612-659-6700.

You are responsible for submitting your Intent to Graduate form to the Office of the Registrar by the established deadline for the term you wish to be considered for graduation.

When will I know if I have graduated?

The Office of the Registrar will begin to notify students by mail regarding the status of your graduation review approximately 4 weeks after the end of each term.
