Academic Advising Services

Mission: We work together, in collaboration with the campus community, to provide quality advising services to facilitate student success.

Advising goals:

  • Become increasingly independent in identifying and utilizing resources to evaluate progress toward degree completion/goal attainment.
  • Create an academic plan, with sequence of courses required for your major.
  • Articulate interests, abilities and life goals and how those are compatible with academic goals.
  • Develop problem-solving skills to help you overcome obstacles you may face as you pursue your education.
  • Identify and utilize websites, campus offices, faculty and staff you can consult with questions related to your academic progress and career/major selection.
  • Connect your educational plan to your career goals.
  • Schedule your courses so you can graduate in a timely manner based on your academic plan.
  • Understand the importance of including experiences outside of the classroom in your academic plan.
