2013 Cinema spring showcase

MCTC’s Cinema department presents its one-night-only Cinema Spring Showcase. This Showcase is the presentation screening of this year's capstone projects by Cinema students, and will also include selections from first-year Cinema Production students.

Boston Scientific Partnership

Boston Scientific Logo MCTC announced the third sequential year of its partnership with Boston Scientific Corporation today as part of efforts that encourage Minneapolis high school students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Summer Jump Start to College initiative is designed to increase the number of low-income students and students of color who are prepared for college-level math and science courses upon graduating from a Minneapolis public high school or Robbinsdale Cooper High School.

The spring 2013 commencement ceremony will honor more than 1500 graduates from the summer of 2012, fall of 2012 and spring of 2013, and will feature WCCO Reporter Reg Chapman who will emcee the event.

Louis Fobb Wins All-USA Award

Louis Fobb Wins All-USA Award

Louis Fobb, MCTC liberal arts major, has been selected as a member of the 2013 All-USA Community College Academic Team. The All-USA Community College Academic Team is presented by USA TODAY and Phi Theta Kappa, and is sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group. Additional support is provided by the American Association of Community Colleges. Fobb is the fourth consecutive MCTC student to receive this award and the seventh MCTC student to be honored in the history of the award.

MCTC Choirs Present Spring Concert

MCTC's spring 2013 choral concert

At its annual spring choral concert on May 3, the MCTC choirs will perform works from an array of musical genres across the world. The MCTC Choirs are accustomed to singing songs in many languages and many different styles, but it is rare that they have the chance to perform a brand new work. At their concert May 3, they will have the opportunity to do just that.
