High Tech Girls and Boys Societies

The High Tech Girls and Boys Society are both programs run by Minneapolis Public Schools in conjunction with the Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

The mission of the High Tech Girl’s Society is to increase the representation and success of girls in our high tech CTEC programs such as Project Lead the Way, Aviation and Automotive programs. The High Tech Girl’s Society supports female students transitioning to high tech post-secondary education as well as employment in non-traditional careers for women.

The mission of the High Tech Boy’s Society is to provide an opportunity for male students to learn about the latest trends and best practices in the high-tech industries through:

  • Education
  • Relevant field trips
  • Speaker series
  • Student competitions
  • Leadership development

MCTC partners with the High Tech Boys' Society several times a year to offer trainings, workshops and career exploration for participating boys in this program.

Please contact Betty Olsen for more information about both programs.
