All Minneapolis Community and Technical College and Metropolitan State Minneapolis campus buildings will close on Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 4:30 p.m. and remain closed on Thursday, Dec. 25. The campus will be open to employees only on Friday, Dec. 26.

The campus will resume normal hours on Saturday, Dec. 27.

Academies

Minneapolis Community and Technical College offers more than 130 certificates, diplomas and degrees in a number of program areas.

We organize our programs by academy, and each academy has dedicated academic advising to help you meet your goals:

Academy of Business and Service

The Academy of Business and Service prepares students for successful careers and further education in commerce and service industries.

Academy of Education and Public Services

The Academy of Education and Public Services prepares students for careers and further education in the fields of education, law enforcement, community development, library technology services and fitness training.

Academy of Nursing, Counseling and Allied Healthcare

The Academy of Nursing, Counseling and Allied Healthcare prepares students through certificates, diplomas and associate degrees for successful careers and further education in nursing, counseling, and other healthcare related fields.

Academy of Media and Technology

The Academy of Media and Technology prepares students interested in sound, cinema, photography, digital media and graphic or web design to work as part of a media or design team within small to large corporations or as independent entrepreneurs. The academy also prepares students to work in the ever-growing information technology arena, including specialties in software development, networking, information assurance and security and mobile applications.

Academy of Manufacturing and Building Sciences

The Academy of Manufacturing and Building Sciences prepares students for successful careers and further education in the manufacturing and building science professions.

Academy of Liberal Arts and Transfer

The Academy of Liberal Arts and Transfer is designed to prepare students for transfer and careers in the arts and humanities. You may seek transfer through the Minnesota Cooperative Admissions Program (MnCAP) for the University of Minnesota, through articulation agreements MCTC has with four-year institutions, or to other public and private baccalaureate institutions.

Academy of Science and Mathematics

The Academy of Science and Mathematics prepares students for careers or transfer in science, engineering and math. This academy also prepares students for higher learning and professions in fields such as research, mathematics and statistics, microbiology, biotechnology and physics.
