Special POY initiatives

Short term book and transportation loans: Please see a POY advisor regarding assistance to help purchase textbooks and the To-Go card. The loan amount will be dependent on the cost of the books from the MCTC bookstore.

Students receiving an emergency book loan from the POY program are expected to pay this money back to Business Services by October 31, 2011. Late fees will apply if you do not pay by the deadline. A hold will be placed on your MCTC account, which will deny you access to checking out library materials and registering for spring semester courses until the load is paid.

On March 27, more than 100 Power of YOU students from MCTC and St. Paul College attended a funding hearing for the Power of YOU program at the State Capitol. MCTC President Phil Davis and MCTC Power of YOU student Jasmine McConnell were two of the people who testified.
