February 29th, 2016 MCTC Student Club and Navigate to Host Latino Open House

Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) student group Xicanos Latinos Unidos and Navigate to host “Aqui Hay Oportunidades” on March 19th from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. This event is geared to raise awareness to the access of higher education for Latino students in Minneapolis.

Event topics:

  • Learn how to file for financial aid and state aid for undocumented students
  • Hear about scholarship opportunities for undocumented students
  • Resources for Latino families
  • How to be a Latino student leader
  • Information for students and parents
  • Application fee waived and change to win $500 scholarship
  • Free event parking and open to the public

Navigate is a local Minnesota organization dedicated to helping immigrant students pursue higher education. Navigate works with secondary and post-secondary students, families and organizations to promote and inform immigrant students’ rights to access education.

This event will be held in the second floor of the campus T building, located at 1501 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403. Event parking is free and directions to this event can be found online at: www.minneapolis.edu.
