MCTC Announces 2013 Summer Courses
Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) announces its 2013 Summer class schedule. MCTC has added a number of courses to appeal to college students who are home for the summer and looking to complete science and chemistry classes and labs, general education requirements and skills courses that will transfer to four-year colleges and universities in Minnesota. Several courses are offered online. MCTC has also streamlined the registration process to make it easier for visiting students.
“You will find a wide range of affordable, transferable classes at MCTC,” said Lois Bollman, vice president of academic affairs at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. “We’ve added numerous science and liberal arts classes, both online and onsite, to appeal to students who want to keep their education moving and graduate sooner. Our classes are high-quality, most of them transfer to other colleges and universities, and they cost a fraction of what students would pay for similar classes at four-year colleges.”
Summer semester begins June 3.
“Summer is a good time to take classes that fill up during the regular school year, like biology, chemistry, English, computer science, math, psychology, sociology and statistics,” said Bollman.
“In addition, several career and technical courses are offered in the areas of accounting, business management, information technology and nursing, as well as others.
“Class sizes are usually smaller, the Summer Semester is shorter, and most three-credit classes cost less than $700.”
Through the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, courses are accepted for transfer by four-year public colleges and universities in Minnesota, as well as many private colleges.
