New Semester Brings Technology Updates
MCTC Students Will Start Their Fall Semester with Upgraded Technology
Returning students at Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) will see a few technology changes this fall.
MCTC is rolling out these three technology upgrades for students:
StarID is a single login that provides access to multiple computer services and applications at MCTC. Students will need to use their StarID to log in to campus computer and many College applications beginning August 12. Students must activate this ID in order to be able to use it. More information is available here.
Office365 is MCTC’s new email system. On August 12, all students will receive new email accounts and addresses which will leverage their StarID. More information is available here.
The intranet is a private website for students and faculty that is accessible on and off campus. The intranet will launch mid-September, and will provide students with a news feed, access to faculty-updated department information and blog communities. More information on the intranet will be posted when it becomes available.
Computer labs and kiosks are available for students who arrive to campus without activating their StarID. However students should take the necessary steps prior to arriving on campus for a faster first-day experience. All questions can be directed to the IT Service Desk or 612-659-6600.
