MCTC's Metro Area Economic Impact

College’s economic role is fourth-largest within MnSCU

MCTC at duskA study by the Wilder Institute determined Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) contributes $377 million to the Twin Cities metro area economy. This figure takes into account the College's annual operating budget, spending by employees and students, direct jobs created by the College and its students and jobs created by contractors and suppliers. This makes MCTC the fourth-largest contributor to the economy of the 31 institutions within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system.

Recently, MCTC has been lauded for building workforce partnerships connecting local employers with College needs and student skills, partnering with Minnesota-based businesses to provide training, and making the case with employers for its budgetary requirements.
